Upendra Prasad Verma, the RJD leader who served in the ministry of Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi for 15 long years on Tuesday joined the Janata Dal (United).
A respectable leader Verma held several important portfolios like commercial taxes and parliamentary affairs. He resigned from the RJD weeks before the recently concluded parliamentary elections. He said he joined JD(U) because of development taking place in Bihar during the Nitish Kumar regime. He said he felt neglected in RJD. He also recalled that he had requested Lalu to set up a rail factory in Jamalpur but his plea was ignored.
